The Settlement Fund Board
In order to administer and distribute the settlement fund, a
Settlement Fund Board was appointed by the Honorable John
Garamendi, the Insurance Commissioner of the State of
California. The Board consists of three members: Berj Boyajian,
Esq., Paul Krekorian, Esq., and Viken Manjikian, M.D. The board
members’ duties are executed without compensation from the
settlement fund or from any other source. The Board is charged
with determining whether to approve each individual claim for
payment. In doing so, the Board is bound by the terms of the
settlement agreement, and the distribution of the settlement
fund must be approved by the Court.
The Board is currently in the process of evaluating all claims
that were submitted by the Claim Notice submission deadline of
March 16, 2005. The Board will consider and decide whether to
accept or reject each claim individually on its own terms.
Because much time, research, and analysis is involved in
evaluating each claim, the decision of the Settlement Fund Board
will be final, with no right of appeal.
